Confirm the exact course
Ask the employer which credential and training provider the project accepts before paying for a course. H2S awareness and H2S Alive are different course descriptions; a similar course name does not establish acceptance for a particular role.
Plan renewal before mobilization
Energy Safety Canada states that successful completion of the H2S Alive renewal skills assessment results in a certificate valid for three years. Check your own certificate expiry and the provider’s current renewal eligibility before booking. Leave time for the assessment before your start date.
Keep a readable credential record
Add the course name, issuer, issue date and expiry date to your worker profile and upload a clear copy. Check the extracted fields against the document. A profile record supports screening; the employer still determines site-specific training and orientation requirements.
