$5,000 Red Seal completion bonus opens for applications November 16

Canada has announced the application opening for its Red Seal Completion Bonus, with eligibility extending to qualifying apprentices certified since April 2025.

Employment and Social Development Canada announced on October 23, 2026 that applications for the $5,000 Team Canada Strong Red Seal Completion Bonus will open on November 16, 2026. The announcement covers journeypersons who completed an apprenticeship and obtained certification in a designated Red Seal trade on or after April 1, 2025.

Applicants must also be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and must not currently attend high school. Those certified between April 1, 2025 and November 15, 2026 have until May 31, 2027 to apply. For certification from November 16 onward, the stated application window is 12 months from certification.
